Buca di Beppo - San Diego

Treat from Amy's dad,
Thank you so much.

Buca di Beppo is a chain restaurant throughout the United States,
They're specialized in bringing out the traditional Italian food to your table,
I think Buca is above average among all other Italian chain restaurants,
So don't be too picky here (see who's talking now).

All the Buca restaurants are decorated with old pictures and some interesting sculptures,
The whole place is warm color tones based in order to bring out the cozy family atmosphere,

For the noise level,
I think Buca really did a great job delivering the "family" theme to its customers.

Usually when the host/hostess leads you to your table,
They will walk through the open kitchen area,
So you can see how their food are made.
That's one other special thing about the restaurant,
What's the other?
They serve big portion food.

Never go there by yourself.

Behind Our Table-

Fried Calamari-

Cindy's Rating: 5.5

Garlic Bread-

Cindy's Rating: 2

Pizza Angelo-

Alfredo sauce with chicken, mushrooms, corns, and thyme,
Topped with homemade roasted potato chips,
I think the pizza is ok,
The potato chips are hard as rubber.

Cindy's Rating: 4

Chicken with Lemon-

I didn't taste the capers at all.
But at least the chicken was tender.

Cindy's Rating: 4.5

Liguine Frutti di Mare-

Probably my favorite dish from Buca.
Liguine wasn't al dente tho (I'm super picky about that).

  1. Although Buca may be a good family place to eat! They have management problem's Starting with the lead chef. He is not a people person, and doesn't work with his employee's at all. They hire people with no expereince, and could clearly care less about them and customer's. The wait staff seems to be O.K.,Though several have attitude problems. And a couple of kitchen person's are illegal, not having the right qualifications to work legally. That is probably why there having financial problems, having closed several locations in the U.S. Thats my comment.
